Webinar La sostenibilità nel settore agroalimentare

According to the latest IPCC estimates, about 25-30% of global anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions are related to the agri-food chain (agriculture, livestock, deforestation). From this percentage, about 8-10% is related to food waste. This share is set to increase as the world population is expected to grow to an estimated 10 billion in 2050.

While the agri-food chain is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions, it is also highly vulnerable to climate change. Hence the importance of making the agri-food chain sustainable, especially in light of the increasingly important role that sustainability is playing in consumer choice and in view of the benefits of implementing sustainable policies for corporate reputation.

However, it is undeniable that the introduction of sustainable policies frequently entails higher production costs and the need to offer products at higher prices.

In the webinar, the speaker will illustrate with a practical and operational approach and also through case histories:

  • the implications of sustainability in the agri-food supply chain;
  • the possible ways of implementing sustainable policies;
  • the possible impacts that the implementation of sustainable policies can have on a company’s financial equilibrium;
  • what initiatives, contributions and facilities are envisaged in this regard in the European context.

The speaker has long-standing experience in international trade law, environmental law and sustainability.

Free admission.

The speech will be in Italian.
