The origin of the goods plays a crucial role in international trade: its correct identification leads to competitive advantages for the seller as well as economic advantages and cost savings for the buyer; just as its incorrect identification leads, on the other hand, to high penalties also of a criminal nature.
The Union Customs Code (UCC) establishes the rules on both the non-preferential origin of goods (“made in”) as well as the preferential origin.
In recent years, there have been important innovations regarding the origin of goods following the Preferential Trade Agreements concluded between the European Union and various third countries.
The webinar is aimed at outlining the updated legislative framework on the preferential origin of goods, as well as at illustrating the related benefits and practical implications for businesses.
The webinar also addresses the new regulations that will enter into force with respect to the proof of the preferential origin of goods, as well as the figure and function of the Authorized Exporter.
