He is a partner of Bacciardi and Partners and the Head of its Customs and International Transportation Law Department. He focuses on European Union and international customs law, comparative customs law, international transportation, European Union VAT and VAT applied to foreign relations, international trademark law, competition law and international anti-counterfeiting law.
He has gained extensive knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
- European Union and international customs law and comparative customs law (customs code and tariffs – classification rules – choice of regime – completion – rules of origin – free trade agreements – value determination – economic bans – quotas and licenses – currency provisions – customs declaration and customs debt – return of rights – the Common Agricultural Policy – administrative customs law – third country customs law);
- International transportation law (shipping orders and shipping contracts, general conditions and unfair clauses – freight forwarder’s and carrier’s liability – reservations, claims and compensation – risk and liability insurance – shipping securities, credit instruments and certificates of deposit – tariffs and freight rates – navigation code, international conventions – transport credits and privileges);
- Incoterms rules in international sales and transportation contracts;
- International law on trademarks, distinctive marks and origin labelling.
He was Professor of Customs Law and Procedures at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Macerata.
